How to measure your penis accurately. length and girth guide. Moorgate Andrology
Do you know to measure your penis in the right way ?
Accurately measuring your penis size is important for several reasons — from understanding your natural size to assessing potential gains from penis enlargement surgery or penis filler treatments.
At Moorgate Andrology, all measurements are taken by our GMC-registered Urologists before and after any procedure, to ensure precise, professional results.
Measuring Penis Length (Erect)
For the most accurate results, measure your penis when it is fully erect.
-
Place a ruler or measuring tape along the top of your penis.
-
Press it gently into the pubic bone to account for any fat pad.
-
Measure from the base (where the penis meets your body) to the tip of the glans.
-
Record the measurement in centimetres or inches.
💡 Tip: If measuring erect isn’t possible, use the stretched flaccid length — it’s usually very close to the erect length.
Measuring Penis Girth (Circumference)
To measure girth (thickness):
-
Use a flexible measuring tape.
-
Wrap it around the thickest part of your erect shaft (usually the middle).
-
Ensure the tape is snug but not tight.
-
Note the measurement in centimetres or inches.
Consistency is key — measure under similar conditions each time. Factors like room temperature, recent activity, or even mood can affect size.
Measuring in the Flaccid State
You can also measure your penis when it’s flaccid. Many men are concerned about flaccid size because it can appear smaller. However, this is perfectly normal.
At Moorgate Andrology, our specialists take flaccid measurements during your consultation for penis enlargement surgery or penis filler treatment to establish a baseline.
