Measuring your penis when it is erect

For the most accurate measurement, you might wish to measure your penis when it is fully erect. This is because the size can vary when your penis is flaccid.

Bear in mind that if you cannot measure your penis when it is erect, the stretched length of your penis is also the same, or very similar,  as your erect length.

Place the ruler or measuring tape on top of your penis. Press the ruler lightly into the pubic bone to ensure you are measuring from the base.

Start measuring from the base of your penis (where it meets your body) to the tip of your penis. Make sure the ruler is pressed against the pubic bone. This is your length measurement.

For girth, wrap the measuring tape around the thickest part of your erect penis. This is usually around the middle of the shaft. Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight, as you want an accurate measurement.

Write down both the length and circumference measurements.

Make sure you are measuring in the same way each time to get consistent results.

This is very important. Your mood and the room temperature can all have a bearing on the penis size. Try to take your measurements under the same conditions each time. If you do not do this your measurements will be different each time. For example, if you take the measurements after taking a hot bath, they will be very different to taking measurements in a very cold environment

You can take measurements when the penis is in the flaccid state. Many men are concerned about the penis size when it is flaccid as they feel it looks too small compared to when the penis is in the erect state.

Understanding the Results:

Length: The average erect penis length varies, but it typically ranges from 5.1 to 5.9 inches (13 to 15 centimeters). Anything within this range is considered normal.

Girth: Average erect penis girth is around 4.7 to 5.1 inches (12 to 13 centimeters).
